This man left his Range Rover unattended for a week, and he was left shocked by what it looked like when he returned.

TikToker Eazy Racks headed off for vacation and returned to find his car in a horrifying state.

The interior had been left looking seriously gross, with mold spread across the steering wheel and seats.

This all happened because of a simple mistake made before the owner headed off on vacation.

This man’s Range Rover was in bad shape when he returned from vacation

When you come back from your vacation, there’s a bunch of stuff you need to get off your to-do list.

Head to the grocery store, do some laundry, unpack your suitcase.

Getting rid of mold from your car isn’t usually on your agenda.

But it was for TikTok user Eazy Racks, who returned to find that his Range Rover had been ravaged by mold.

Brown fungus had swamped the steering wheel and leather seats, making it look as though the car had spent time on the ocean floor.

TikTok users were appropriately horrified.

“You need to hire a sitter next time,” one person wrote.

“I need one of y’all TikTok scientists, engineers, doctors, whoever start explaining and providing preventative measures,” another commented.

What caused this to happen? And what can be done to stop it happening to your car?

The cause of the mold was alluded to in the comment section of a follow-up video, where the mold had been eradicated from the vehicle’s interior.

“What caused the mold in the first place?” Somebody asked

“Interior was sprayed with cleaner and locked up before it [dried], it didn’t air out and was in the hot garage for a week = mold,” another commenter replied.

That comment was liked by Eazy Racks, indicating he agreed with this timeline of events.

If you don’t want mold to take hold in your car, here’s a few things to bear in mind.

Liquid in a hot environment is a hotbed for mold, so ensure that foods and liquids aren’t left in cars for long periods of time.

Vacuuming and cleaning thoroughly is recommended – while also allowing the car’s interior a chance to be aired out.

“Food crumbs, carpet, fabric seats, skin cells, and dust can all provide food for mold spores,” restoration business iMold warned.

Car cleanliness is so important, as any good car owner knows.

We’ve seen how bad cars can get when things get out of hand.

For one YouTuber, this early 2000s Dodge Ram was the ‘worst’ he’d ever seen.

Then there was the ‘world’s dirtiest Ferrari’, which produced ASMR levels of satisfaction when it was cleaned.

The cleaning-up process is undeniably cathartic, as demonstrated when this filthy Tesla was given a total makeover.
