Rap and Hip-Hop music videos from the early to mid-2000s were on a completely different level.

Kanye West and Jay-Z’s song ‘Otis’ came out in 2011, it was a hit and still remains one of the whackiest music videos ever produced.

In the video, the rappers took tools to a a $350,000 Maybach 57, cutting into the luxury sedan and taking it apart to create what they saw as the ultimate gangster-mobile.

This was something no one outside of Grease had ever thought of doing before.

Why the Maybach 57?

The Maybach land yacht used in the video was powered by a stonking-great 5.5-litre twin-turbocharged V12 that was capable of getting from 0 to 60 mph in about 5.1 seconds.

It also probably appealed to the music artists because of its stellar 21-speaker premium sound system – which was likely broken during its transformation.
