The new Renault 5 isn’t just electric – it’s unapologetically French too.
Small, stylish, and full of charm, it’s already turning heads.
But Renault didn’t stop at good looks and clever design.
Instead, they added something so on-brand it might as well come with its own beret.

The Renault 5 comes equipped with a baguette holder
TikToker Daniel Achterhuis, AKA danielcars05, was casually checking out the new Renault 5 when he found it – a factory-designed baguette holder. Yes, really.
A branded wicker basket that secures into the center console, made specifically for long loaves of bread.
“Proper French spec,” he says, sliding the baguette in like it was baked to be exactly there. And honestly? It kinda was.
The interior itself is fresh, clean, and well-built, but this feature turns the whole vibe from quirky to iconic.
Because if there’s one thing that sets a French EV apart from the rest, it’s the ability to safely transport your warm, flaky carbs.

Renault made it official with full flour protection
This isn’t a prank or a one-off for the press tour.
Renault lists the baguette holder on its website as a legit accessory, promising ‘no more traces of flour and breadcrumbs.’
The only catch? It won’t be available right away – it’s reportedly launching ‘at a later stage.’
There are other accessories too – illuminated door sills, a Renault-branded cover, some floor mats. But let’s be honest, we all know which feature we’d want. And it’s the one designed to cradle baked goods.
It’s not just functional. It’s deeply, proudly French. And if you don’t get it… you probably weren’t meant to.
