Rolls-Royce doesn’t make cheap cars, but this YouTuber managed to get hold of a Silver Shadow II for $2,668 – a great bargain in anyone’s book.
However, it would take a lot of work to get it back on the road.
Always a catch, right? You knew there was no way that someone would be letting a Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II go so cheaply if it was in tip-top shape.
Could Old Skull Garage fix this car up, or would it be $2,668 down the drain?

What was the backstory to this $2,668 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II?
YouTuber Old Skull Garage had seen this car while filming a barn find video, and couldn’t get it off his mind – so he made an offer.
What set the Shadow II apart was the large rubber bumpers and a steering rack inside a steering box.

But before any celebrations could begin on securing this great deal, work needed to commence on the car itself.
This wasn’t the first time someone put in the hours to get a Silver Shadow II back on the road, as Autoalex Cars found out.
The car had a whole host of electrical issues, including climate control wiring that would activate randomly, and battery drain caused by suspicious wiring.
Replacing the plugs was a tricky task, as some plugs had been heavily fouled or weren’t firing.

To access them, he had to dismantle air intakes, clips, and vents.
All in all, the spark plug replacement process took around three hours to complete.
The work’s not over yet
The fuel hose was replaced, but that still didn’t get the car to start.
He removed the tops from both carburetors to find that one side was dirty and a possible obstruction was preventing the movement of the needle.

After cleaning the internals and reassembling them, he gave it another go – and got it running.
It’d been a stressful day, but he’d finally struck gold.
Best of all, he found out that the car had an interesting backstory to it – it had participated in the Prescott Hill Climb back in 2011.
