After creating the most powerful Ford Mustang ever, RTR is offering a new package that turns even the ‘standard’ 2026 Ford Mustang with the EcoBoost engine into a drift machine.

The fact that they’ve decided to develop this package for the ‘base’ Mustang is interesting.

But it just further proves Ford’s and RTR’s commitment to keeping inexpensive cars fun.

Because you’ll never guess how much this costs.

This drift machine is less expensive than you think

Ford and RTR – a tuning firm that works with Ford – produced this track-ready beast for a very specific purpose.

Mustang’s Chief Program Engineer Laurie Transou said they are simply trying to ‘produce the most exciting, fun-to-drive turbocharged Mustang ever’.

It certainly looks like they did a great job.

Visually, you get a package that’s vaguely similar to that of the the RTR Spec 5, with Tarnished Dark Anodized mirror caps and new wheels.

There is also the Hyper Lime Appearance Package, with matching calipers and new external graphics.

Under the hood, you’ll find the smallest Mustang engine available, the 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder EcoBoost engine.

It puts out 315hp and 350lb-ft of torque, but it now has an anti-lag system, which makes horsepower and torque delivery a lot more smooth and linear.

The vehicle was further upgraded with new front and rear stabilizer bars, and the subframe borrowed from the Mustang Dark Horse.

And the price?

The EcoBoost Mustang starts at a very reasonable $34,315, and the package adds $2,195 to the grand total.

Not a bad deal.

The Ford Mustang family is getting bigger

After the electric Mustang Mach-E, the brand wants to further expand the Ford Mustang family.

The company is reportedly working on a four-door model – potentially named ‘Mach 4’ – but is still determined to give its customers hardcore muscle cars as well.

Not long ago, Ford unveiled the GTD, the most powerful Mustang ever, as well as the most expensive.

Technically the Spec 5 we mentioned earlier is even more powerful than the GTD, but that’s an RTR product rather than a Ford product.

Either way, that means customers can now buy Mustangs with 800hp or more, that cost a fortune, or simple Mustangs that cost just over $30,000 and are still fun to drive, and that’s great news.
