Almost every car fanatic has, at least at some point in their lives, dreamt of owning a Ferrari amongst their collection of supercars, but there are actually a number of strict rules you need to abide by to be a member of the exclusive club.
It feels all a bit teacher’s pet vibes, but if you want to tuck a Ferrari into the garage at nighttime, you need to be on your best behaviour.
Reportedly, the keys come with rules.
And disobeying them bans you from any future Ferrari purchases.

Ferrari reportedly has a number of ownership rules
Given that Ferrari is a dream car for most, the established Italian brand needs to sort the Ritz from the rabble to make sure its owners are flying the flag well.
So to get your hands on its Rosso red supercars, the company does thorough background checks, no matter what the price is being offered at the dealership desk.
These will determine whether you’re fit for purpose, and unless you’re already a Ferrari owner, you can kiss the limited production supercars goodbye.
But there are many more hoops to jump through.

The Italian company takes its rivalry with countrymen Lamborghini seriously, and reports claim that you can also wave away the chances of owning its limited cars if you have at least one of the competitors’ cars in your collection.
While they will likely overlook this for the standard Ferrari releases, you won’t stand a chance of landing a Daytona SP3 if you’ve got an eye on the new Fenemeno too.
You’re also not allowed to sell your supercar in the first year of ownership. This is quite standard for many companies, mainly to prevent scalpers; even Tesla enforced this rule with the Cybertruck.
Finally, if you’re caught badmouthing Ferrari, they’ll give you the cold shoulder should you come knocking for a set of keys.
Rules are for breaking, right?
Of course, there have to be some exceptions to this ruleset. While many people are either Camp Scuderia or Camp Lambo, with no in between, others are known to own both brands.
Some of the finest collections in the world feature both brands, meaning there must be a level of fame you can achieve to sport the two fabled Italian supercars in your garage.
Even when it comes to critical outspeaking, that rule is negotiable too. Jay Leno openly criticized the company, but that didn’t stop a Daytona from rolling into his garage.

Still, it goes without saying that Ferrari demands respect, and if you oblige, it will respect you too.
