Subaru has unveiled its new Trailseeker EV that’s built for off-roading and offers more than 250 miles of real-world range.
The Trailseeker is the first EV developed entirely by Subaru, as the earlier Solterra was created in a joint effort with Toyota.
The facelifted Solterra was unveiled alongside the Trailseeker last month at the 2025 New York International Auto Show.
And it’s safe to say it’s made quite a statement.

The new EV has eight inches of ground clearance and is all-wheel drive, making it the perfect companion for off-roading adventures.
It’s all-electric powertrain can produce up to 375 horsepower, giving you plenty of acceleration, and it has an impressive 3,500lb towing capacity, so it can be used to haul trailers, boats, and caravans.

The marque has hailed it as the ‘next generation of Subaru vehicles’.
“The all-new, all-electric 2026 Trailseeker EV SUV just made a powerful statement at its unveiling at the 2025 New York International Auto Show,” the carmaker said.
“With the versatile, roomy Trailseeker, you get everything you love about a Subaru — outstanding capability, advanced safety, and long-lasting Subaru engineering — all in an adventurous all-electric vehicle you can trust from a brand you can love.”
The Subaru Trailseeker is compatible with the North American Charging Standard (NACS), meaning you won’t struggle to find a charging station for it – and it won’t take long to get back on the road, as the EV can go from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 30 minutes.

The Trailseeker’s range is estimated at ‘over’ 260 miles (418km), which is pretty impressive for a car this size.
The interior is similar to that of the Solterra, but there’s a little more cargo room in the Trailseeker.
It has a 14 inch center touchscreen infotainment system, which is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a smaller screen near the windshield which serves as the instrument cluster.
The new EV is set to go on sale in the US next year, and as yet, Subaru hasn’t revealed a price – but rumors suggest it could start at around $45,000.
