The luxury car collection belonging to the Sultan of Brunei and his family is one of the biggest secrets in the automotive industry.

However, some never-before-seen images give us a glance at this enigmatic collection.

It has been reported that the collection features 7,000 cars and contains some of the rarest and most valuable vehicles in the world.

Many of which may never see the light of day.

Sultan of Brunei’s luxury car collection

Since 1967, Brunei has been under the reign of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah.

The Sultan also has a jaw-dropping luxury car collection of over 7,000 luxury cars, which is reported to be worth $5 billion.

It is curated with a little help from his brother, Prince Jefri.

The actual amount of vehicles in his car collection isn’t exactly known but it is definitely massive.

Maintaining such a huge collection is no easy task.

Despite its grandeur, a few leaked images of the luxury car collection show the vehicles deteriorating and in poor condition.

Leaked images

These images were first uploaded on the internet in 2011, by a user called Taffy.

“Those pictures were taken by a friend back in 2001 when he was given permission to look at the cars that were going to be auctioned. He only spent an hour [there] and skipped many parts of the garage,” according to Taffy.

Taffy’s images also include three McLaren F1 LMs, of which only five were built.

However, the condition of these McLaren F1s leaves much to be desired.

The leaked images of the sultan’s luxury car collection also show a bespoke Bentley with mold spreading across the car’s steering wheel.

One can only wonder what state the car is in today, 23 years later.

Let’s hope this car collection got the love it deserves and is now in a better condition than when it was last seen.
