Apple just released iOS 26.3, which comes with the usual array of minor improvements and security patches.

But there are also a couple of important features that have been added.

Including something that concerns privacy.

And there’s also a new feature everyone’s been waiting for for ages.

What’s new in iOS 26.3

Let’s start with the ‘minor’ ones.

For starters, Apple changed the Lock Screen customization, and Weather and Astronomy have been separated.

Weather now includes three dedicated preset wallpapers with specific typography and widget layouts.

Not exactly something we’d all been holding our breath to see, but there you have it.

Moving on, we’ve got something a lot more important, because there’s a new privacy toggle that limits how accurately your carrier can track your location.

And speaking of privacy, there’s something vaguely related to that with iOS 26.3, but this is EU-only.

In the EU, notifications can now be forwarded to all smartwatches – not just your Apple Watch – and also third-party headphones can now use the ‘one-tap’ pop-up pairing style.

Until now, this had only been possible with Beats (which Apple owns) and of course AirPods.

This is the feature that really makes a difference

Everyone knows Apple heavily banks on its ecosystem to keep people in.

You’ve got your iPad, iPhone, AirPods, Mac – they all communicate seamlessly with each other, and everything is super easy and super quick.

The downside is that, until not long ago, the tech giant made it very difficult for an iPhone user to share files and communicate with an Android user.

Apple and Android integration has always been kept to a minimum.

Let’s not forget that, until three iPhones ago, you couldn’t even share the same charging cable with an Android.

That’s changing now.

The new ‘Transfer to Android’ feature lets you move your data by sitting your Android and Apple phones side-by-side.

Kind of like AirDrop, but with Android.

Pretty neat.

And some people will probably say ‘finally’.
