There’s been a fair bit of backlash about the new iPhone 15 Pro Max overheating.

Users have been making a lot of noise on social media, with one recording the temperature of his iPhone sitting around 48 degrees.

In response to the overheating issue, Apple has taken a surprisingly nonchalant stance.

In short, Apple implied that the iPhone 15 Pro may overheat under certain conditions, and while performing certain tasks.

Unlike the ‘normal’ iPhone 15, the 15 Pro is designed to be, among other things, a portable gaming console.

Due to its 4K monitor and the high-performance Graphics Processing Unit (GPU), the 15 Pro can overheat while running more graphic-intensive or complex games.

Apple warned against using Android-specific USB-C chargers as they may cause the iPhone 15, not just the Pro, to overheat.

The iPhone 15 is the first-ever iPhone you can charge with the same cable you use for Android phones.

Apple was essentially forced to comply with the EU law that mandates common chargers across all devices.

This is the first batch of iPhone 15s, so hopefully these issues will be fixed in the coming months.

But until it does, Apple will have some less-than-happy customers.

“This is insane. The iphone 15 Pro can reach temperatures of up to 48 degrees,” one X user said.

“My iPhone 15 Pro Max overheats too frequently,” another echoed.

Tech experts agree too.

Even Apple Hub took to X to complain about the issue.

“Just being on the Home Screen for 1-2 mins causes it to overheat. I don’t think this is normal,” they said.

The good news, if we can call it that, is the iPhone overheating issue is mostly affecting 15 Pro and Pro Max users at the moment.

We’re not sure if it’s of any consolation, though.
