A tech YouTuber created a DIY Apple Vision Pro using nothing but parts from a thrift store.
It may not look the same, but it does a lot of the things Apple Vision Pro does.
Viewers were impressed and compared his creation to the Iron Man approach to the character’s body armor, and we can totally see why.

For those unfamiliar with the story, in the movie, Iron Man created his body armor in a cave, using nothing but bits he found.
That’s the comparison that’s being drawn here.
And we see their point.
Put simply, the YouTuber, who goes by ‘Basically Homeless’ on the platform, created his own Vision Pro by mounting a camera, a monitor, a PC onto a helmet, using swimming goggles.
And that’s pretty much it.
His DIY Apple Vision Pro works brilliantly, but then again, DIY projects often do.
A lot more often than people might think.
Back in the fall of 2023, when we were still waiting for Elon Musk to finally unveil the Tesla Cybertruck, we found a swathe of DIY YouTubers who put together their own version of the Cybertruck.
Some were just built for fun but other versions were truly impressive.

And speaking of the Cybertruck, we need to mention that YouTuber who crafts all kinds of vehicles using nothing but wood.
He too made a Cybertruck, and Elon Musk himself was impressed with his creation.
Tech-wise, one of the most impressive DIY projects we’ve seen in recent times is the PS Hanami, a working handheld gaming device created starting from a PS1.
It just goes to show when you’ve got talent, and a bit of time on your hands (pun intended), nothing is impossible.
