This Tesla Cybertruck faced off against a diesel Chevy Silverado in a tug-of-war and it couldn’t even be completed.
When it comes to pitting EVs against other types of cars, a tug-of-war is a pretty good way to go.
But in this situation, things took an unexpected turn.
Let’s just say that this showdown had a premature ending.

A Tesla Cybertruck takes on a Chevy Silverado in a tug-of-war
Car rivalries are nothing new, and EVs are no exception.
We’ve seen vehicles pitted against each other in a variety of formats over the years – compared on mileage, speed, or cost.
But nothing provides a visual spectacle quite like a tug-of-war.
What better demonstration of prowess do you need?

We’ve seen the Cybertruck take on various trucks in tug-of-wars, including a Humvee, a Ford F-150, and a Rivian R1T.
So when it came time for the Cybertruck to take on a diesel Chevy Silverado HD, many would have thought it’d be business as usual.
Or at the very least, it’d be a real clash of the titans.
But that’s not how it panned out.
YouTube channel Cyber Hooligan put the two trucks up against each other.
To look at the two, you would be forgiven for thinking the Cybertruck might have an advantage.
Not that the Silverado looked meek and mild, but the Cybertruck just looks like it’s straight out of the future.

But in the first attempt at a tug-of-war, the Silverado won with ease.
It was the same story the second time around.
For the third round they changed things up a bit – having nobody in the Silverado and putting it in park.
The Tesla initially began pulling it along, but it didn’t look like an easy task.
It then froze and began rolling backwards.
So, what gives? Why couldn’t the Cybertruck perform?

What went wrong?
It appeared that some sort of failsafe jumped into action once the Cybertruck was pulled backwards by the Silverado.
This cut all power to the Cybertruck, effectively turning it into a heavy load.
The fact that the Cybertruck could only achieve partial victory when its opponent was driverless says something.
Hopefully, Tesla can take a look at this issue and work towards a resolution.
Not that being able to win in a tug-of-war is the be-all and end-all of cars.
