A Tesla Cybertruck owner has shared a neat little feature that could come in very handy for those with pet dogs.
The US Humane Society advises against leaving dogs inside locked cars for any amount of time.
However, sometimes it’s unavoidable and for Tesla owners there’s a clever feature that ensures your pet will be comfortable.
It also reassures passersby that the dog is safe and happy.

Tesla Dog Mode could be very useful for pet owners
TikTok user Joe Fay, – or @jf.okay – regularly shares videos about his Tesla Cybertruck to his 3.5 million followers.
He’s previously revealed how much it cost him to charge his Cybertruck at home for the whole year and shared exactly what he loves about his EV.
In a new clip, Fay has highlighted a cool little feature that could come in very useful for dog owners.
While its not recommended that pet owners leave their dogs in their cars – with the US Humane Society warning ‘leaving pets locked in cars is never safe’ – things can become a lot more dangerous when the weather heats up or when it drops below freezing.
“High temperatures can cause irreparable organ damage and even death,” the Humane Society states.
But Tesla owners can pop into the Climate Control options and switch on ‘Dog Mode’, which will leave the cabin at a consistent temperature of your choosing – meaning your dog won’t get too hot or too cold while you’re gone.
The feature also helps to reassure passersby
Not only does Dog Mode help to keep your car at an optimal temperature for your dog, it also lets any concerned passersby know that your pet is safe.
This can prevent them from calling the authorities – or attempting to smash their way into your vehicle to rescue the pooch.
When Dog Mode is activated and the owner has left the car a message pops up on the screen telling passersby that the ‘driver will be back soon’ and sharing the temperature inside the car.
“When the heat or air conditioning is on in a Tesla you cannot hear anything because it is completely silent, so when an animal is inside a car, somebody might walk by, see a dog inside and think it’s 150 degrees in there because the air conditioner is not on,” Fay explained while putting his car into Dog Mode.

“So, the next time you see a dog that’s left inside of a Tesla for a short period of time just look at the screen and you can see exactly what temperature it is inside for that pet.”
Smart, right?
