Tesla Cybertruck sales are down to just 5,000 units per quarter, as confirmed by a Tesla report.

Everyone thought that was the case, but now we have ‘proof’, so to speak.

The news isn’t that great when we include sales of other models.

This also means that, for the first time, something unprecedented has happened.

The likely reason why Tesla Cybertruck sales are down

A Tesla report confirmed that Tesla Cybertruck sales were down.

The main problem for Tesla is Cybertruck was unveiled to much fanfare, but the hype died relatively quickly.

A year after the unveil, in late 2024, the writing was already on the wall.

A few months later, it became even clearer when Tesla started accepting trade-ins and discounting trucks.

A lot of people are blaming Musk and his political ‘inclinations’, but the unnatural frenzy around the truck probably didn’t help because it made demand skyrocket immediately, but then accelerated the downtrend.

Tesla initially announced a capacity for 250,000 Cybertrucks every year, but they’re now producing around 5,000 every quarter.

The company delivered around 15,000 cars in total, including ‘other models’, in Q2 2025, way lower than last year, which means that the company, for now, seems to be struggling across the board.

The Model Y was the best-selling car in the world in 2023 and 2024, but it feels like that’s not going to happen again this year.

Time will tell.

Bad news for Tesla is good news for everyone else

People aren’t buying Tesla like they used to, so that means they must be buying something else, which they are.

About a month ago, Ford overtook Tesla when it comes to electric truck sales.

Now, even Chevrolet is outselling Tesla.

Even though it’s very important to point out that this is happening between several models, namely the Silverado EV (3,056 sold in Q2) and the Sierra EV (1,524 sold in Q2).
