A Tesla Cybertruck got stuck in the middle of nowhere in California after failing the Rubicon Trail.

The 22-mile route in the Sierra Nevada mountain range is kind of like the Nürburgring of off-roading.

In that it’s iconic, but also challenging.

Clearly, this Cybertruck owner underestimated the challenge.

The Rubicon Trail isn’t for the faint of heart

The Rubicon Trail is a 22-mile route located in the California section of the Sierra Nevada mountain range.

Just like Germany’s Nürburgring, the trail is often used as an unofficial proving ground by both private individuals and manufacturers.

And, like the Nürburgring, it mustn’t be underestimated.

This Tesla Cybertruck owner, though, clearly did just that.

Based on a video shared by Cybertruckco, a company that specializes in Cybertruck accessories, it looks like the truck got stuck after driving over a large boulder it couldn’t clear.

It was eventually rescued, but people in the comments have not been kind about it, with many blaming the driver’s recklessness, and others blaming the truck.

“I was there. He got pulled over every single obstacle without exception, ran out of batteries. It took so much gasoline [to rescue it]. It was a wildly irresponsible trail run,” a user commented.

“I like that truck and I still admit it has no business on the Rubicon and is a huge pain for everyone else,” another wrote.

“Definitely doesn’t belong on the trails,” a third echoed.

Is Tesla Cybertruck actually good at off-roading?

The truck is a controversial vehicle, and people either love it or loathe it.

This also means ‘haters’ are always looking for opportunities to criticize it, while owners and fans of this EV truck are eager to prove it is a capable off-roader.

The good news is there’s plenty of evidence to keep both camps happy.

We’ve seen videos that prove that it can be a great off-roader.

And we’ve also seen videos of it getting stuck and having to be rescued by internal combustion trucks.

But the boot has also been on the other foot because it’s sometimes been seen rescuing other trucks.
