Elon Musk is expanding his empire with a Tesla diner and drive-in movie theater.

Yep, Tesla has reportedly been approved to build its Diner and Drive-In Movie Supercharger in Los Angeles.

It comes five years after Musk first teased the concept.

“Gonna put an old school drive-in, roller skates and rock restaurant at one of the new Tesla supercharger locations in LA,” he said.

“We can just have the menu pop up (on your touch screen) as soon as you put the car into park.”

Then in 2021, Musk teased the diner again, this time saying it was coming soon.

“Major new supercharger station coming to Santa Monica soon! Hoping to have 50s diner and 100 best movie clips playing too,” he said

And just like the long-awaited, over-hyped Tesla Cybertruck, it appears the diner might too become a reality because the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety just gave it the green light, according to Teslarati.

Twitter users are now creating their own renders of what they think the Tesla diner will look like:

Tesla reportedly acquired a $16 million plot on Santa Monica Boulevard in Hollywood last year before the concept was approved.

Designed for Tesla drivers to recharge their EVs, it will have 32 supercharger stalls, a restaurant with rooftop seating, and two movie theaters.

While the diner is just about as far from car production as you can get, Musk has never been one to shy away from new business ventures.

The billionaire owns a bunch of different companies including SpaceX and Twitter (now X).

And just last month, he announced the formation of a new artificial intelligence company, called xAI.

Musk said the goal of xAI was to “understand the true nature of the universe”.

So, considering he’s now using AI to try to understand the universe, he should have no trouble setting up a drive-in diner.
