Tesla has sent a letter to Cybertruck owners that has a proposal for them, but it might not actually meet their expectations.

The EV giant has shared the news about a special feature in its pickup trucks.

But, its offer hasn’t completely solved the situation at hand.

Let’s take a look at what went down, shall we?

Tesla is a well-known leader within the EV industry.

From launching a Roadster into space to creating Superchargers, it’s often paved the way with new tech.

The well-known brand recently launched its FSD Robotaxi service in certain American cities, plus one of its Cybertrucks was able to power a whole tiny house.

The Cybertruck boasts a whole heap of impressive features – but as with anything, sometimes things don’t quite go to plan.

The issue lies within a special mode that Tesla offers – basic Autopilot.

“Autopilot is an advanced driver assistance system that enhances safety and convenience behind the wheel.

“When used properly, Autopilot reduces your overall workload as a driver.

“Each new Tesla vehicle is equipped with multiple external cameras and powerful vision processing to provide an additional layer of safety,” the brand itself stated.

But there is a catch.

It reportedly won’t be available for Cybertrucks.

A letter was shared by Tesla fan @DevinOlsenn which said that his Cybertruck was eligible for a free one-year trial of Full Self-Driving (Supervised) trial.

Why you ask? Well, it’s to compensate for the lack of Autopilot.

“As we improve our Autopilot technology, our feature sets will change. Accordingly, Autosteer will not be available for Cybertruck outside of Full Self-Driving (Supervised),” the letter explained.

In order to claim the offer, the driver needs to subscribe to the mode before June 6, 2025 – but if they cancel the subscription, the offer still stands.

Even though it’s a year-long free usage offer, some owners simply aren’t happy.

“That’s garbage tbh,” stated one user.

“Not a fan of this,” stated another.

“What a strange decision. Why? What problem does that solve? Existing owners that are waiting for it must be gutted,” concluded another.

What do you think? Would you be angry to see other motorists getting a free trial of an expensive feature?
