Tesla has introduced a sweet money-saving incentive on its Model 3 and Model Y, but if you’re keen, don’t hang around because it ends soon.

It’s been a bumpy 12 months for Tesla when it comes to sales.

Last summer, the sales figures for the Cybertruck were revealed, and they were a lot lower than many people expected.

Then, the US government announced it would be scrapping the federal EV tax credit, effectively making most electric cars $7,500.

Tesla has announced a new money-saving incentive for the Model 3 and Model Y

The move initially led to a surge in sales for Tesla and other EVs, as those who were considering buying an electric car decided to jump before the price went up.

However, it’s largely expected that with the credit now gone, electric car sales will fall.

Which could explain why Tesla has launched some incentives to tempt people to buy their vehicles.

In the past, Tesla has offered free Full Self-Driving for new Cybertruck purchases, and in Canada last September, the EV-maker announced that it was giving either $5,000 or free Supercharging to customers buying a Model 3

Now, it’s offering US customers one free upgrade on new purchases of the Model 3 and Model Y.

This means buyers will get the most expensive paid option added onto their car for no extra cost, so you can go for a more premium paint option or the white interior for free.

As ever, there are some conditions, with Tesla explaining: “Only for limited inventory while supplies last.

“Price displayed on inventory listings already deducts the cost of the free option.”

The incentive ends on February 2, so if you do fancy getting your hands on the freebie upgrade, don’t hang around.

The carmaker recently announced some big changes to Full Self-Driving

Earlier this month, Tesla quietly killed off its Autopilot in the US and Canada.

Instead, its cars will now come with Traffic-Aware Cruise Control and a 30-day free trial of its Full Self-Driving (FSD).

The decision comes after Tesla announced it was scrapping the option to buy FSD as a one-off purchase, in favor of a subscription model.

The monthly subscription is currently set at $99, and until February 14, there is still an option to purchase FSD outright for $8,000.

Tesla boss Elon Musk has warned that the subscription cost will increase as the technology improves.

“I should also mention that the $99/month for supervised FSD will rise as FSD’s capabilities improve,” he said on X.

“The massive value jump is when you can be on your phone or sleeping for the entire ride (unsupervised FSD).”

As yet, there’s no timeline to reveal exactly when Tesla owner should expect the unsupervised version of FSD.
