A Tesla Model Y Juniper owner has revealed the real-world range of his EV, finding one design choice to be quite bizarre.
The Model Y owner posted on Reddit about the car, having traded in his 2020 Model 3 Performance for an updated 2026 Model Y Juniper.
On his Reddit post, he noted a few interesting things about the electric car, including its real-world range, but one or two things caught his attention for the wrong reasons.
One of those was a particular design choice that he couldn’t help but describe as bizarre.

What was the bizarre design choice on the EV?
Scrolling through the post, it appears that the rear-view window is the issue this owner had particular concerns with.
In the post, they claim that it’s super small, especially for an SUV/crossover.
The owner referred to the rear-view window in their older Model 3 Performance and how that was also quite small.
However, amazingly, it appears that this Model Y has, in his opinion, even worse visibility than his previous Tesla.

Given how important rear visibility is, it seems illogical to have made such a small window.
Other issues, such as a whirring noise in the cabin, were also noted.
However, this owner was also able to test out the real-world range of the EV.

Reddit user Conjaggiano, however, was very happy with the range of this Tesla.
He described how the listed range was ‘actually rather accurate when it comes to matching the real-world range.’
That, he said, was a huge confidence boost while driving the car, and almost completely removed any range anxiety that he may have had previously.
Closing the gap between the EPA-estimated range and real-world range is a big step for electric cars.

For comparison, the owner said that in his Model 3 Performance, the listed range was 260 miles, but he usually got around 150 miles out of the car.
His new Model Y Juniper, though, is so much better on range, and far closer to the 280 miles that Tesla says it is.
That is a very big win for Tesla and its cars.
