What use is the Google Street View car to me?
Google Street View enables you to explore places without actually making the journey and spending money travelling.
The street car gives businesses the chance to gleam online and give a shining first impression too- giving you at home first viewing of all manner of shops, restaurants and landmarks.
It also helps to give directions and guidance to people looking to visit buildings in person.
How often does Google Street View update?
The street cars update their images approximately every two to three years or when it is deemed necessary.
But, sadly Google no longer offers a map where the Street View Car is due to do its thing.
The Street View cars have a roof equipped with a clever camera that has snapped some 10 million miles around the globe.
And, it has even captured some peculiar pictures such as a horse chomping on a banana.
Google maps even has a Street View camera mode for you to live vicariously through the driver of the all important car.
They even have a camera that can help capture a 360 degree view of your surroundings too.
The ‘Trekker’ can be used in a variety of ways such as a backpack.
They use this to reach places they can only attend to on foot.
The images come from only two exclusive places – Google and added contributors.
So, keep your eyes peeled for the cars, and you very well could be featured on Street View yourself.
