This American YouTuber went viral for transforming an old 40-foot full-sized school bus into a luxury tiny home.

Using bespoke and luxury parts, the school bus quickly became a real house for the content creator to live in with his partner.

He worked with his brother and his dad to upgrade the old bus, including installing an off-grid power system and raising the roof, taking over a year to complete.

He was not only upgrading the bus to make it into a lovely tiny home for him and his partner but for a really wholesome reason.

How does a 40-foot full-sized school bus become a house?

Chay Denne, known online as President Chay is a YouTuber known for his construction videos and his amazing talent for storytelling.

Some of his previous projects have included building a tandem electric bike, a two-story micro camper and a tiny house on top of his car, but his latest project is completely mind-blowing.

After purchasing a 1991 Ford School Bus, Chay decided to renovate it into a luxury tiny home for his partner and him to live in, in order to save money on rent.

Along with help from his brother Colby and dad, he began the renovation, not knowing that it was going to take a whole year.

Tiny home, big plans

In the biggest and most expensive project they’d ever dreamed up, they needed a good base. The 40-foot full-sized school bus was powerful and ran well, a great foundation for a home on wheels.

The most ambitious part of their project was physically raising the roof, and not just in a party sense!

They removed all 28 of the bus seats and used wooden jacks to safely raise the roof by five feet.

They created nine-foot ceilings, bolstering them with steel tubes so they wouldn’t collapse in extreme weather, the biggest roof raise in YouTube’s history.

He managed to make the house two-story, using the top floor as a second bedroom and a luxury bathroom with twin showers and high-end spiral taps, fed by massive 100-gallon water tanks.

Subscribers loved how high-end the bathroom looked and the interior decor was, particularly thinking the fold-up hand railings on the roof deck were genius.

The house/van was powered by four 200Ah 12V batteries and a solar-powered system, this could support a full-sized fridge and a washer/dryer unit.

The video ended on the sweetest note you’ve ever seen, when celebrating his amazing new tiny home with his partner on their cool new roof deck, Chay proposed to his girlfriend and she happily accepted.

President Chay has it all, a new First Lady and the coolest White House anyone could ask for, even if it is on wheels.
