Slated as the highest-mileage EV in the country, this UK man with 238,000 miles on his Tesla Model 3 breaks down his electricity spend, and the results could buy you a new car.
Back when EVs were first popularized, we were all promised big savings on our fuel expenditure.
‘They will pay for themselves’ was the cry.
Now, one person has proved just that after this Tesla Model 3, aptly named ‘Miles’, has saved tens of thousands over its lifetime.

This Tesla has driven around the moon and is still in great condition
Miles is the Tesla Model 3 in the ownership of UK content creator and car dealer RSymons AKA RSEV.
Having been bought by the YouTuber on 215,000 miles, RSEV has since put an extra 23,000 on the clock, claiming that it has now covered enough distance to have traveled to the moon and back.
Having only been registered in 2021, that’s quite an impressive feat for a car yet to see its fifth birthday, and even better when you consider its condition.

According to the creator, the only repairs the car has needed in its hefty service were a heater issue – solved by an over-the-air (OTA) software update, a new wing mirror, and replacement suspension bushes.
Everything else is in tip-top shape, and the bodywork especially makes this yard dog look like it’s only just rolled off the assembly line.
Even its battery health is phenomenal, as RSEV revealed that it still has a maximum capacity of over 85 percent.
But what about its fuel savings?

Tesla Model 3 ‘Miles’ saves UK man a fortune
Many high-mileage Tesla cars have lived up to the expectation that you will save money in the long run, despite the cars being sold at premium prices compared to gas vehicles.
However, this specific car has saved so much in fuel costs that you could have bought another one.
In a new upload to his channel, RSEV calculated that, over the last five years, it would have saved approximately $10,000 in fuel, with the stats showing the overwhelming majority of its charging was done from home.

Tie that in with the wild lack of maintenance, RSEV estimated that the car would have saved $40,000 of running costs over its 238,000 miles.
It’s not just Tesla doing great things with its EV savings, as Porsche owners are also reporting great electricity-to-gas comparisons, but when you consider depreciation too, the Model 3 is almost unrivaled.
