Engineers build 'indestructible' $2,995 Tesla wheel they claim is impossible to break on the road

Engineers from Unplugged Performance claim to have made an ‘indestructible Tesla wheel’ – dubbed the UP Forged Road Warrior or UP-RW – that is virtually impossible to break.
High-performance tuning company Unplugged Performance says its engineers have created a wheel that’s so robust they have hailed it as the ‘world’s first indestructible Tesla wheel’.
The company is so confident in the new wheels, it’s even offering a free lifetime replacement if you do manage to bend or crack one during use.
The company says the new wheels will be ideal for robotaxis and autonomous transport vehicles.

The ‘indestructible Tesla wheel’ is made for the Model 3 and Model Y
Unplugged Performance says its newly launched indestructible Tesla wheel is designed to fit all Model 3 and Model Y variants worldwide.
The company says the wheel is ‘purpose-built for high-mileage drivers, commercial operators, and everyday commuters’ with a specific focus on Tesla’s future Robotaxi and Cybercab fleets.
The UP-RW is made from aerospace-grade 6061-T6 aluminum, making it a lot tougher than the standard Tesla wheels, which are made using a lower-grade aluminum.
Unplugged Performance also claims the lightweight wheels are super aerodynamic thanks to an integrated forged aerodynamic disc that helps reduce air turbulence and drag around the wheel.
The company says the wheels have a load rating of 2,094.39 pounds, and they come with a built-in metal curb protector that can be replaced if it gets scuffed up or damaged.
“The UP-RW Road Warrior is our Robotaxi wheel and the ultimate EV daily driven wheel,” CEO of Unplugged Performance Ben Schaffer said.
“It’s the most durable, most thoughtfully designed wheel we’ve ever made.
“The Road Warrior is ready for battle in the harshest conditions and will bring a unique peace of mind that these are the last wheels you’ll ever need to purchase with our durability guarantee.”
A set of four 19-inch wheels will cost $2,595, while a set of 20-inch wheels will cost $2,995, the ‘limited time’ price also includes billet-forged center caps and the curb guards.
Tesla fans have praised Unplugged Performance in the past
While the new indestructible Tesla wheels are expected to go down a treat with some EV owners, it’s not the first time Tesla customers have been impressed by Unplugged Performance.
In fact, some folks have even urged Tesla to acquire the Californian tuning company after seeing how they converted standard Teslas into high-performing police patrol vehicles.
They pointed to the fact that Unplugged Performance is already building working fleet vehicles using Tesla’s technology, while also being located just steps from Tesla’s own offices.
