Vin Diesel has confirmed the release date for Fast Forever, the eleventh and final Fast and Furious movie – and there are rumors the late Paul Walker could return.

Believe it or not, Fast and Furious kicked off a staggering 25 years ago, in 2001.

Since then, it’s spawned a bunch of sequels, some spin-offs, video games, and even theme park attractions

But after more than two decades, the Fast and Furious franchise is set to bow out.

Fast Forever is on the way, but fans still have a bit of a wait

The most recent installment, Fast X, was released in 2023 and was the first of two parts that would wrap up the franchise.

The second part was slated to hit cinemas in 2025, but that didn’t happen, and fans of the long-running franchise have been left on a real cliffhanger since 2023.

Unfortunately, it seems as though that isn’t set to change any time soon.

In a post on Instagram, Vin Diesel, who has played Dominic Toretto since the very first movie, has revealed the release date.

“No one said the road would be easy… but it’s ours,” he wrote.

“One that has defined us and become our legacy…

“And a legacy… lasts Forever. March 17th 2028!

“FAST FOREVER”.

So, fans still have a couple of years until they find out what happened to Toretto, Tej, Roman, and the rest.

As ever, plot details are scarce, but given that Fast Forever is set to be the final Fast and Furious movie, we can expect things to be neatly wrapped up before the credits roll.

As for who is set to star in the flick, Diesel will, of course, be reprising his role.

And although nothing is set in stone, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Jason Statham, and Tyrese Gibson are all tipped to make an appearance.

The late Paul Walker is also reportedly going to appear on screen

In June last year, Diesel also revealed that Brian O’Conner, who was played by the late Paul Walker, would be back.

His character, O’Conner, was the co-protagonist of the movies and appeared in seven of the films, until Walker’s tragic passing in 2013.

According to Vanity Fair, Diesel had agreed to the finale on three conditions, one of which included bringing O’Conner back to the screen.

“The studio said to me, ‘Vin, can we please have the finale of Fast & Furious [in] April 2027?’” he told the publication.

“I said, ‘Under three conditions.’ The first is to bring the franchise back to LA.

“The second thing was to return to the car culture, to the street racing. The third thing was reuniting Dom and Brian O’Conner. That is what you’re going to get in the finale.”
