A woman saw her late husband’s Chevrolet Corvette roll into the light again for the first time in 53 years after the WD Detailing team worked their magic with the sports car.

Peggy lost her husband a year ago, and he left behind a barn that had a Chevrolet C1 Corvette sports car from 1954 hiding in the back.

This is a model from the second model year of the Corvette, and Chevy only made 3,600 of them that year.

It is an incredibly rare car, and the detailing team worked hard to make it shine once again.

Where had the Corvette been kept?

The sports car had been hiding in the back of a barn, tucked right up into a corner.

Surrounding it was a lot of stuff, ranging from tires, spare parts, and a lot of junk.

Yet initial inspections revealed the C1 Corvette was in solid condition, despite the dirt and dust.

A team managed to get the car outside once again, and it was taken to the WD Detailing workshop for detailing.

The team admitted that it needed a lot of restoration work.

But they made a good start on it and got it looking clean and shiny once again.

The American sports car needed a thorough cleaning

All kinds of dirt were sitting on the car’s bodywork, which all needed removing.

This involved vacuuming off a lot of it, before the car was also given a wash and polish.

Some of the paint did flake off the car, and it was evident that a full repaint would be beneficial.

Yet even with just a basic wash, the car still looked better despite the condition of the paintwork.

The team continued to work their magic on the C1 Corvette, performing a full clean of the body.

At the end of the video, Peggy and the family were invited to see the car once it had been cleaned.

There was a lot of emotion on show, as this C1 Corvette had been well and truly transformed and clearly sparked nostalgia.

The Chevrolet Corvette will soon go up for auction, so perhaps a full restoration will happen for this rare survivor.
