The Tesla Plaid is already known for its blistering speed and futuristic approach, but these guys have now made it even faster.
The group focused on shedding down the car’s weight and enhancing its top speed.
Their goal was simple – pushing the EV to its limits and breaking the Tesla Plaid’s speed record with their very own creation.
Not only did they make it fast, but they gave it an incredible new look too.

Transforming the “world’s lightest Tesla”
Removing the unnecessary parts and cutting down on weight was a major part of their modifications, but that wasn’t all.
The team made several aerodynamic improvements, including adding a more aggressive front-end.
Speed holes were drilled into the back of the car to improve airflow and reduce air buildup, helping the car move through the air more smoothly.
The guys also further enhanced the performance by adding a new set of wheels and tires.
They also plan to add aluminum panels to improve aerodynamics.
BoostedBoiz, the YouTube channel documenting the project, were testing these changes on the drag strip, where they’ve already seen some exciting results.
The team has hit a new personal best with Tesla Plaid
As of now, the Tesla Plaid’s record is yet to be broken, but they have hit a new personal best of 152.3 mph.
While the car is improving with every run, the guys said they have a long way to go.
But they feel confident.
With the efforts they are putting into the project, it sounds like they have a good chance at turning the “world’s lightest Tesla” into the world’s fastest Tesla.
If the team successfully breaks the record, it will be quite the achievement considering how quick the Tesla Plaid already is.
In fact, the Tesla Model S Plaid even defeated the Lamborghini Revuelto in a drag race.
