You can currently get the first Mercedes-AMG ML63 AMG 500hp Super SUV for an incredibly attractive price, despite the power of the Mercedes-Benz.
The 2009 ML63 first burst onto the scene in 2009, and it arguably ignited the performance SUV segment before the Lamborghini Urus or Ferrari Purosangue.
The ML63 could boast a massive V8 engine under the hood and an incredible amount of horsepower as well, but at the time, it wasn’t cheap.
However, as of the time of writing, you could pick one up for less than $15,000, depending on the mileage, and get your hands on a truly great performance SUV.

Why was the Mercedes-AMG ML63 AMG so good?
The ML63 followed on from the success of the 2000 ML55 AMG.
This had a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 engine under the hood, making 342hp.
Yet Mercedes felt it could do better with the SUV.
In 2009, they came out with the ML63, with a massive 6.2-liter M156 V8 engine under the hood.
This time, the car was naturally aspirated, and it produced much more power than its predecessor.

The M156 made 510hp and 465lb-ft of torque, giving it an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.
Acceleration was also rapid at just 4.9 seconds for its 0-60mph time.
Later versions had a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8.
Add in the optional AMG Performance Pack, and it could reach a speed of 180mph.
Yet it is the original Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG that enthusiasts seem to have the biggest soft spot for.
The ML63 is surprisingly affordable in 2025
Incredibly, you can pick up one of these incredible Mercedes-Benz SUVs for less than $15,000.
These tend to be higher-mileage examples, often with around 140,000 miles on the clock.
But you can get these for around $13,000.
To put that into context, that is cheaper than the Nissan Versa, one of the most affordable new cars in the USA.
It’s around $6,000 cheaper.

Naturally, the lower the mileage, the higher the price of the car will be.
According to classic.com, one sold for just $28,501 in 2022, and it had just 77,000 miles on the clock.
Another sold in 2023 for $18,500 with 88,000 miles on the odometer.
So you can indeed pick a Mercedes-AMG ML63 AMG up for great prices, without worrying about it doing over 100,000 miles.
