You can now officially buy Ford cars through Amazon Prime.

And no – we’re not talking about toy cars or ‘Hot Wheels’ units.

The legendary marque has reached an agreement with online retail platform Amazon.

And the deal means that you can now order a Ford car with Amazon Prime.

Ford now sells cars on Amazon?!

Sounds like it could be a hoax – but we promise you that this is absolutely true.

The Ford Motor Company is officially partnering with Amazon.

And the deal will allow people to buy certified used vehicles online.

Yesterday saw the Blue Oval brand make a surprising announcement.

It confirmed that a deal had been reached with online retailer Amazon.

The deal in question will allow customers to view the inventory of various local Ford dealers.

It will reportedly allow buyers to complete most of the paperwork online via Amazon Autos.

Shoppers will then be able to schedule a time/date to pick up their new purchase in person.

The new program is set to debut in Los Angeles, Dallas, and Seattle.

Other locations will be added over the course of time, Ford confirmed.

Same peace-of-mind; different method of buying

In case you were wondering, these purchases come with all the normal guarantees and security.

Each vehicle comes with a manufacturer-backed warranty.

It is essentially the same as if it were sold directly through the dealership itself.

Ford noted that the only caveat to the deal was that the cars cannot be delivered.

“No Amazon Prime delivery for cars!” the company said.

According to the brand, around 180 of its dealerships have expressed interest in signing up for the program.

This is in addition to 20 dealerships that have already signed up to participate.

Interestingly, Ford is not the first brand to have signed up to the program.

Amazon Autos first started offering used vehicles to buyers back in August.

It cited interest from dealerships in doing so.

Hyundai is the other brand to have signed up to the program to sell cars via the platform.

Is it time to add a car to your cart?
