An American YouTuber let his 16-year-old son choose his first car and was surprised at the sensible Saab he ended up choosing.
Randy from Auto Action Rebuilds took his son to his 28-strong collection of cars, to see which one he would choose.
An extra twist was that Randy had already bought his son Nick a car for $11,000 but he wanted to see which he would choose for himself.
In the end, he chose something very sensible which surprised his father.

Nick had a selection of cars to choose from
There was a huge selection of cars for Nick to choose from.
Some cars such as a Dodge Viper and Plymouth Prowler were off limits.
But most of them were on the table for Nick.
One car for example was the Hyundai Venue, a compact 2022 SUV that is safe, reliable, and comfortable.
The bright green color certainly stood out.
Nick didn’t choose the SUV, though, even though he was impressed by the space inside it.
An interesting choice was the Chrysler TC by Maserati, a weird car that never sold well when it was released.
Yet Nick was quite taken by it, however, he opted against the Maserati.
Another very cool car was an old Ford Crown Victoria ex-cop car.
Randy bought this for just $200, and it was certainly high on Nick’s list of considerations.
Nick chose a sensible Saab for his first car
Roughly halfway through the YouTuber’s video, Nick had a drive in the Saab coupe that Randy had.
This was something he was very interested in, particularly because it was turbocharged and a convertible.
The air-conditioning worked, and the Saab proved to be super comfortable.
Nick only drove it a short distance but he was very impressed with the Saab, liking it even over the ex-cop car.
Nick did narrow his decision down to a handful, including the Maserati, a Dodge Dynasty, and the Saab.

In the end, Nick chose the Saab, which was not the car his dad had bought for him.
However, it was a smart choice as the Saab brand is incredibly safe and sensible – and it even had brand-new tires.
Not everyone will think a Saab is cool, but Nick certainly does.
