A YouTuber in Texas decided to try and live in a Tesla Cybertruck to test exactly how practical the EV was.

To ensure the Cybertruck was ready to be used as a home-away-from-home, he got himself a CyberTent.

The easy-to-set-up tent can be inflated in minutes and comes with an ‘ultra-soft mattress’ to sleep on.

The Tesla Cybertruck is a bigger vehicle than most, which means, in theory, it could offer a comfortable set-up, but was this case for YouTuber PeterMc?

The CyberTent turns the Tesla CyberTruck into a unique sleeping space

Tesla released its CyberTent in March last year, closely followed by its ‘CyberTent mode’

The add-on, which costs $2,975 and is currently out of stock, turns the Cybertruck into a compact sleeping space – and one couple even managed to live out of it for three whole days

YouTuber PeterMc also attempted to see if the tent was really enough to convert the Cybertruck into a comfortable place to spend the night.

For the purpose of his experiment, Peter rented a Cybertruck in Texas and wasted absolutely no time in getting to grips with the vehicle.

Noting its super-size, and the fact it has three power outlets in the back, Peter reckoned it was a pretty solid start.

“This thing should be the best car to live in,” he said.

How was camping in the EV?

After taking a spin in the Cybertruck Peter decided to see if he could turn it into a bathtub of sorts, by placing a tarp in the back and filling it with water.

An exceptionally daring move in a rental car, right?

Thankfully, the tarp did the trick, and the truck wasn’t damaged – meaning the YouTuber was able to continue with his experiment.

With the night drawing in, he charged the EV and plugged in a space heater to keep himself warm.

Thanks to the heater and the mattress, Peter managed a fairly comfortable night in the Cybertruck – he was even able to cook himself some burgers – leaving him pretty impressed.

“I slept well, that space heater put in the work,” he said the next day.

“But to answer the question, ‘can you live in a Cybertruck?’ – I think you can. This was probably the most fun I’ve ever had with a car.”

A ringing endorsement if ever we’ve heard one.
