YouTuber rescues 1976 Buick Electra after wife sells husband’s cars to afford medical bills

A YouTuber has brought a 1976 Buick Electra back to life after buying it from a woman forced to sell her cars to cover her husband’s medical bills.
The original owner of the 1976 Buick Electra, Larry, slipped on ice one winter while shovelling snow in his driveway and hit his head.
As a result, he was no longer able to drive and was sadly left with reduced mental capacity.
When John Pomeroy heard the story, he decided to rescue the Buick from the crusher and bring it back to life in honor of Larry.

The 1976 Buick Electra was sold to pay for medical bills
There’s nothing sadder than having to part ways with a beloved car, and in the case of this man and his wife, it involved parting ways with his entire way of life.
Larry and his wife had a collection of nice cars, but as his mounting medical bills started racking up, Larry’s wife came to the realization she needed to sell her husband’s beloved 1976 Buick Electra.
The Buick Electra was also called ‘Larry’ after its owner because it was his pride and joy.
It was carefully maintained, covered, and came with a V8 455 engine, a vinyl top, and plenty of vintage analogue charm.
Despite being well looked after, the Buick was missing panels, had a badly damaged trunk lid, and was a bit worse for wear.
In that state, it was unfortunately destined for the crusher.
That’s where John Pomeroy of Pomeroy’s Garage on YouTube came in.
The restoration of Larry, the beloved Buick Electra
John Pomeroy heard the story of the Buick Electra and immediately decided to buy it, he paid $2,000 to rescue it from the crusher.
Pomeroy began working on restoring the beloved car, sourcing missing parts and giving it a bit of TLC.
Pomeroy wanted Larry to know that his beloved Buick, also called Larry, was in safe hands and vowed to bring the Buick Electra back to its former glory.
