$10 million yacht that’s a floating mansion was exclusively private for more than a decade

The Ad Lib is a millionaire’s dream superyacht.

With a jacuzzi, gym, home office and more on board, it’s essentially a mansion on the water.

This award-winning ship was built by an iconic shipyard which is now closed.

Now this modern-day collector’s item is up for sale, costing a suitably eye-watering amount.

The name ‘Ad Lib’ inspires a sense of indulgence and excess, which is the spirit this superyacht exudes.

Rather than being designed with performance or sustainability in mind, Ad Lib was created for pure pleasure.

Since her launch, Ad Lib has won multiple acolades, including a prestigious Boat International award.

Super spacious, Ad Lib is 131 feet (39 meters) long and can accommodate nine guests in luxurious comfort.

And because of the type of guests this yacht would attract, there is also room for six staff members.

The decor is classic, with dark wood, satin upholstery and a dark navy hull.

The master suite is on the main deck, with panoramic views, his and hers bathrooms, and a private office to work from while at sea.

There is also a shower room and a small private lounge.

This deck is more like a luxury apartment, as it’s connected to the main lounge and dining room.

Here there is ample space for guests to lounge and for decadent feasts at sea.

The entertainment area features a bar with an old-school polished wooden counter and diner-style stools.

To protect guests from the elements, there is a large retractable sun awning, giving the deck resort-like comfort and shelter.

Arguably the best section of Ad Lib is the sundeck.

Placed at the front, it’s ideal for sunbathing with uninterrupted views of the ocean.

Here is a second al-fresco dining area, as well as another bar and a BBQ.

The highlight of this space has to be the jacuzzi, raised on a bespoke wooden platform to maximize views.

Because the Ad Lib is for thrill-seekers, its side-opening garage is perfectly sized for a Waverunner and other water toys.

Many superyachts tend to travel between owners, but Ad Lib has been used by the same person for 15 years.

While it is technically allowed to operate as a charter yacht, she has only ever been sailed privately.

So it’s rare that the chance to buy her has come up.

She’s going for $10 million – a small cost for a millionaire in need of a new playground.
