100 rare cars were discovered in France, and the collection includes some gems.

One of the fleet members was a Ferrari 250GT SWB California Spyder, an esteemed classic.

The cars were brought together by Roger Baillon and named, you guessed it, the Baillon collection.

Just wait until you see what vintage surprises were uncovered in the European country.

When rare car finds happen, they can be revolutionary

From rare supercars to motorbikes, all kinds of vehicles are found hidden in plain sight.

One urban explorer stumbled across the UK’s biggest barn find collection of around 175 classic and extremely rare cars.

Another man who had a habit of searching for abandoned cars on Google Earth found an ’80s dumping ground with a lineup of rare cars on offer, too.

This rare find is equally impressive, with some rather fine autos uncovered.

The Baillon collection was discovered in France

The collection of classics was all down to the sourcing skills of entrepreneur Roger Baillon.

He had big dreams of building a museum to showcase the classic cars he’d collected in the 1950s and 1960s. But as hard times hit, a few had to be sold on, and his museum never came to fruition.

Years later, the forgotten group was found by some auctioneers, and let’s just say, there were certainly some surprises.

A Ferrari Spyder was laying amongst other rare cars

The Ferrari 250GT SWB California Spyder was found in the collection.

The Ferrari 250 California SWB Spyder was made from 1960 to1963 and had limited availability – making it every gearhead’s dream classic snap-up.

Other cars featured in the impressive collection included a 1956 Maserati A6G 2000 Gran Sport Berlinetta by Frua, a Bugatti, a Porsche, and even a Hispano-Suiza.

Due to its pricey contents, the car collection later set records when it went to auction, reportedly bringing in $28.5 million.

Just 60 of the autos were fit for sale, though, leaving the remaining 40 to be sold by family members for parts.

The Ferrari Spyder alone was reported to be sold for a mighty $18.5 million in 2015 – now that is impressive.

Take a look at the contents of the collection below.
