1968 Dodge Charger found on Facebook Marketplace
The Mopars5150 team discovered the 1968 Dodge Charger while browsing Facebook Marketplace.
The seller described the car as rust-free, and a quick on-site check confirmed the body was solid.
While it wasn’t in running condition, the base looked promising.

The original Medium Gold paint had been changed to Silver Poly.
Under the hood, the previous owner had swapped the factory 383 for a 440-cubic-inch V8, the performance engine from the Charger R/T model.
This made a major difference in power and performance, elevating the car from standard to something far more exciting for Mopar fans.
Inside the 1968 Dodge Charger, somthing’s not quite right
The surprises continued inside the cabin. Instead of a B-body console typically found in a Dodge Charger, the car had a center console from an A-body model like the Dodge Dart.
It lacked the standard trim and looked unusual, but it functioned well.

This interior swap, like the engine, was done by a former owner.
The current seller had only changed the exterior color.
The vinyl roof was original, and the reupholstered seats suggested previous attention to detail.
From unfinished project to strong daily driver
Once purchased, the Mopars5150 team got to work.
They replaced the incorrect console with a proper B-body version and added a black bumblebee stripe to the rear.

The result was a refreshed interior, a cohesive appearance, and a solid driving classic muscle car.
Although not factory-correct, the Charger now offers an ideal mix of performance and character.
It is the kind of build that appeals to Mopar fans who prefer driving over polishing.
What this means for classic car enthusiasts
This 1968 Dodge Charger is a strong example of how a classic muscle car can evolve through time.
While some buyers search for flawless restorations, others appreciate stories like this one.

This Dodge Charger carries its history visibly, and that’s part of the appeal.
This 1968 Dodge Charger proves that a classic muscle car doesn’t have to be perfect to be powerful.
With its Mopar 440 swap and one-of-a-kind interior past, it is a rolling tribute to the culture of hands-on ownership and bold personalization.
