This 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge Ram Air III is a perfect time capsule that has been frozen in time for decades.

Pontiac introduced the Judge model GTO in 1969 and it was initially only available in Carousel Red.

The car was designed to be a low-cost, stripped down GTO to rival the Plymouth Road Runner.

In 1970, 3,797 Pontiac GTO Judges were sold, and one of them has lasted remarkably well in a barn in Tennessee.

The survivor 1970 Pontiac Judge Ram Air III is a time capsule

Car enthusiast and YouTuber Backyard Barn Finds headed out to Tennessee to meet up with a man called Martin von Almen, who has an impressive stash of muscle cars.

Tucked away at his property, Martin has a couple of Pontiac GTOs and one LeMans Sport ragtop.

While all the cars are awesome additions to any collection, the 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge Ram Air III is a real highlight.

The car is all original and has even held onto its original paintwork, including the Ram Air branding.

As you might imagine, with 55 years behind it, the 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge is a little faded and scuffed, but given that it’s all original it’s an impressive find.

Under the hood, you’ll find the original 400 Ram Air V8 paired with a four-speed M21 Muncie transmission that can produce up to 370 horsepower.

This particular model was pretty light on options when it was first bought, aside from the standard Ram Air III equipment, the original buyer opted for the Springs/Shocks Ride and Handling package and that’s about it.

“This car was pretty much a barebones car,” Martin said.

“Not many options at all.”

The ‘barebones muscle car’ is up for sale

The interior of the car has held up well over the last 55 years and really adds to the time capsule-feel of the vehicle.

But the barebones muscle car theme continues inside, where you’ll notice its original owner didn’t order a central console or tinted glass.

The owner of the Pontiac says he’s had more than 100 GTOs over the years and that this example is one of the most original survivor cars he’s ever seen.

He’s hoping to sell the car, meaning some vintage vehicle lover could be about to snap up an incredibly rare find.

The Pontiac has just under 100,000 miles on the clock, which, much like the rest of the vehicle, the seller says is original.

You can see the rest of the cars in the collection in the full video here.
