A low-mileage 1982 Collector’s Edition Corvette that spent decades parked in a garage has been given its first wash in 42 years.

The Chevrolet Corvette was unearthed in a farm garage in Ohio alongside a couple of other classic cars.

And with so many years off the road, the vintage ‘Vette was in desperate need of a thorough cleaning, inside and out.

Thankfully, the team from WD Detailing was on hand to make sure that happened, and underneath the filth was a real gem.

The team has plenty of experience when it comes to restoring cars to their former glory – take a look at this incredibly satisfying clean of an abandoned Ferrari  512bb or the time he managed to remove a family of mice from inside a long-forgotten Honda Acura NSX.

So, the 1982 Collector’s Edition Corvette was in safe hands.

The classic Corvette had accumulated a thick layer of dust, dirt, and grime after being stashed away inside the garage for years.

But underneath the filth was a real hidden gem.

The poor old C3 had only been on the road once, before it was put into the garage, and it still had its temporary tags to prove it.

Inside parts of the interior were still wrapped in plastic from the dealership, and it had just 33.3 miles (53km) on the clock.

Hailing it as the ‘lowest mileage 1982 Corvette in the entire world’, the guys from WD Detailing called the find a ‘dream come true’.

The team wasted no time in giving the car a good sprucing up and getting it looking as good as new.

With the help of a pressure washer, some industrial-grade cleaning products, and a lot of elbow grease, the men manage to take the car from looking like something that was dug up out of the ground into its glorious former self.

After removing the years of dirt and dust, they were able to give the car a thorough inspection and discovered a small scrape in the center of the nose and a little bend on the lid of the gas tank.

Other than that, the vintage vehicle was in tip-top condition and was left looking factory-fresh.
