Roberto Irineu Marinho’s new superyacht Stella M is a $180 million Feadship masterpiece that blends jaw-dropping luxury with heartfelt tribute.

The 77-year-old Brazilian media mogul named the 235-foot vessel after his mother, Stella Goulart Marinho, turning it into a floating homage.

Formerly known as Feadship Sakura, the Japandi-style yacht has been drawing admiration for her sharp bow, serene lines, and minimalist elegance.

It’s the kind of purchase that proves Marinho knows how to make waves, whether it’s in business or on the high seas.

This superyacht was snapped up in just six weeks

Launched on speculation in late 2022 as Project 827, Stella M was inspired by the delicate beauty of a Japanese cherry tree.

She hit the market in July 2023, and in true ‘you snooze, you lose’ fashion, sold just six weeks later through Burgess.

Her clean yet mesmerizing silhouette, penned by Studio De Voogt, and minimalist interiors by FM Architettura make her stand out in any harbor.

This 235-foot wonder accommodates 14 lucky guests across seven cabins, with the crown jewel being the owner’s deck.

Here, Marinho can wake up to wraparound, floor-to-ceiling ocean views, enjoy a private breakfast nook, and sink into a hot tub that’s all his.

Of course, superyachts are known for being a great place for luxurious family gatherings, which is why Prince William and Kate Middleton has been spotted on a secretive megayacht for their summer vacation.

Naturally, they brought their children along, and a hilarious moment happened when 12-year-old Prince George asked the $450 million superyacht to change course in order to grab some McDonald’s.

While it’s unclear whether Marinho’s family may be interested in some burger and fries while out at sea, what is clear is that they’ll have plenty of space to relax on the superyacht.

There’s a seven-meter swimming pool, a wellness area, and a beach club, because what’s a $180 million superyacht if you need to dock to have some beach fun?

Beneath her serene looks, Stella M packs some serious performance muscle.

The superyacht cruises at a comfortable 12 knots, can hit 14.5 knots if needed, and boasts a 4,500-nautical-mile range.

Her hybrid propulsion system cuts down emissions, proving that luxury and eco-consciousness can, in fact, sail hand in hand.

A relatively low-key billionaire

Marinho, whose net worth sits at $3.1 billion according to Forbes, heads Brazil’s largest media group, Globo, alongside his two brothers.

The family empire began in 1925 with a single newspaper and has grown into a broadcasting powerhouse.

Outside media, the billionaire owns the award-winning Orfeu gourmet coffee brand and keeps a low-profile life in Rio de Janeiro with his wife and four children.

While it may sound a bit funny to use the words ‘low-profile’ and billionaire together, at least he’s not keeping an a $1.5 billion superyacht fleet that costs a Lamborghini a day just to keep afloat.
