Elon Musk‘s parody account has taken to Twitter to plug the illusive Tesla Smartphone.

The Tesla smartphone has been rumored for a long time, but to date, Musk hasn’t confirmed the legitimacy of it.

Despite this, keen users are stoking the fire online.

“Would you buy the Tesla Smartphone? Your information will never be collected,” it said

A Twitter user who runs Elon Musk Paraody account shared a render of what the phone could look like, and it’s pretty futuristic.

In response to the seemingly out-of-the-blue tweet, people had questions.

“How much?” one user asked, to which the account suggested it would be “cheaper than an iPhone, and also better”.

“We will be the better version of Apple!” they said, although we don’t know who runs this account or if they have any legitimate information about the phone or not.

While most of the Tweets came from the Parody account, the real Elon Musk has also touched on the possibility of the Tesla Smartphone:

While there’s no official statement about the phone, people are speculating online.

The account suggested it would have its own operating system, rather than relying on Android, and would not store any of the user’s information.

“Apple and other large providers may take your data and sell it off, store it, etc. We will keep everything secure and make sure it goes absolutely nowhere but on your phone,” they said.

When one guy said he wouldn’t consider buying it if it looked like that, they jumped in to say the image was just an initial mock-up.

“It will look better,” they said.

Some said they loved the design, describing it as “stunningly sharp and classy” while others had some ideas for how it should be changed.

“Do away with the grille on the back and just have a smooth stainless look,” one said.

One guy said he’d buy it, but only if it would allow him to download and use apps owned by Musk’s competitor, Mark Zuckerberg.

And considering the two billionaires’ long-standing feud, we wouldn’t put it past Musk to pull a stunt like that if a Tesla Smartphone was ever actually released.
