A collection of more than 200 rare watches, from brands including Patek Phillipe, Rolex and Audemars Piguet, is due to go under the hammer in Dubai, with some pieces expected to fetch eye-watering prices.
The company auctioning off the watches, Christie’s Watches in Dubai, last year had the highest annual total for watch auctions in the region at US$24.5 million, according to Gulf News.
Not to mention a record-setting US$1.59 million sale of the Patek Philippe Ref. 5002-P Sky Moon Tourbillon.
However this month, they have US$18 million to shift – so let’s take a look at what’s on offer.
The collection includes two Greubel Forsey GMT Sport timepieces, both estimated to sell between US$400,000 and US$600,000.
A Rolex Daytona Platinum with baguette diamond bezel and eastern Arabic numerals, described by the auction house as “ultra-rare and elusive”, has a price guide of between US$600,000 and US$1.2 million.
Meanwhile a Daytona “Rainbow” is expected to fetch up to US$500,000 and a Submariner COMEX (circa 1984) is estimated sell for between US$80,000 to US$110,000.

The watch expected to fetch the most at auction, with an estimate of between US$1 million to US$2 million, is a limited edition RM 70-01 Tourbillon Alain Prost.
Several Patek Philippe watches are among the lot, but the one expected to attract the highest price is a gold tourbillon minute repeater wristwatch, which is estimated to sell for up to US$800,000.
Alongside these will be an F.P. Journe Tourbillon Souverain with a brass movement, an F.P. Journe Chronomètre à Résonance Black Label and a rare platinum Audemars Piguet Grande Sonnerie with Breguet numerals dial.
