You can usually assume America gets first dibs on anything wearing a Corvette badge.

Special editions, track monsters, low-volume trims – they almost always land stateside.

But this time, the rarest Corvette Z06 isn’t headed to a single US showroom.

In fact, you can’t even buy it here.

The rarest Corvette Z06 you can’t buy in America

The car in question is the 2026 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Bathurst 12 Hour Specialty Edition, and it’s built exclusively for Australia and New Zealand.

It marks the first batch of C8 Z06 models delivered Down Under, and Chevrolet decided to make the moment count.

The special edition celebrates Corvette entering the Bathurst 12 Hour endurance race in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia, where the brand will field its Z06 GT3.R race cars for the first time.

But what makes it so rare?

Every example is finished in silver with black forged wheels, complete with the ‘Jake’ skull stripe package and matching center caps.

It also comes standard with the Z07 performance package, Carbon Flash aerodynamic elements, and a carbon fiber roof.

Inside, buyers get special edition badging, while the fenders wear Bathurst 12 Hour decals to underline the connection.

Chevrolet even throws in a custom car cover styled like the GT3.R racer, plus an art print and branded merch, including a hat, polo, and jacket.

Now here’s the twist.

Most of those visual upgrades are technically available on American-spec Z06 models.

The paint, wheels, aero, even the stripe package – none of that is forbidden fruit in the US.

What makes this the rarest Corvette Z06 isn’t a secret engine tune or hidden power bump.

It’s the regional exclusivity and the extremely limited allocation to Australia and New Zealand.

If you live in America, this exact configuration simply isn’t on the menu.

Why Australia is getting this moment

There’s also a bigger picture here.

The Corvette only recently returned to Australia in right-hand drive form, and the E-Ray didn’t arrive there until last year.

The Z06 showing up at all is a milestone.

By tying the first deliveries to the Bathurst 12 Hour, Chevrolet is planting a flag in one of the world’s most iconic endurance races.

It’s a statement that Corvette isn’t just an American hero anymore – it’s chasing global credibility on tracks that have nothing to do with Daytona or Sebring.

So while US buyers can walk into a dealership and spec a Z06 almost any way they like, this one remains out of reach.

For once, the rarest Corvette Z06 in the world belongs to someone else.
