Trion Supercars is an obscure American hypercar brand that once created a vehicle that was potentially faster than a Bugatti or a Koenigsegg.
They made several prototypes but a production version never arrived.
The good news is Trion is due for a comeback.
But the bad news is that the new vehicle will no longer use V8s.

The reason no one remembers this American hypercar brand
Trion Supercars was founded in 2012 in Las Vegas.
The goal was to create an all-American supercar. One that could compete with equivalent high-performance vehicles from Europe and Japan, including Bugatti.
Trion unveiled two concept cars, the Nemesis GT and Nemesis RR.
Both were supposed to be manual, powered by enormous V8s (9.0-liter), with 1,400HP and 2,000HP respectively.
Most people probably don’t even remember Trion, but that’s because they never actually made a production model.

What’s going to happen with the new hypercars
The good news is Trion is ready for a comeback. But the bad news – or not-so-bad news, depending on who you ask – is that the V8s are gone.
The next Trion supercar will be electric, and it’ll be faster than any American hypercar before it, including iconic supercars such as the Saleen S7, the Dodge Viper, or even the Falcon F7.
Trion claims the new fully electric version will be faster from 0 to 60MPH than the Rimac Nevera and the Aspark Owl.

The fact that Trion is ready to dismiss V8s and internal combustion and switch to electric power is hardly surprising.
Several automakers, from Saleen with its new supercars to Lexus with the LFA and Nissan with the GT-R, are doing the same thing.
We don’t know when the next Trion hypercar is going to come along. But hopefully it’ll be sooner rather than later.
