This American YouTuber got behind the wheel of China’s version of a Bentley that every Chinese buyer should drive because it shows off a love of your country, as well as good taste.

The American reviewer compared it to a Brit buying a Bentley, or an American buying a Ford. But the Hongqi Guoya is a luxury Sedan made by a Chinese automaker for a Chinese audience.

Only four dealerships in the whole of China sell the Hongqi Guoya, and it’s extremely difficult to get your hands on one. In fact, you have to pass a background check, and you’re not allowed to finance it.

This special luxury SUV is used by top government officials and dignitaries, protecting the prestige of the luxury brand.

Meet the Hongqi Guoya, a brand-new luxury car, made by the prestigious Chinese automaker, Hongqi.

In a YouTube review by Wheelsboy, he pointed out that buying one of these cars is like a German buying a Maybach or a Brit buying a Bentley. It’s a sign of not only good taste, but also love of your country.

However, you can’t go rushing out to buy one of these just anywhere. That’s because they make it very difficult for you to get one, even if you live in China.

Firstly, Hongqi is a very prestigious brand, and so the automaker will do anything to protect its prestige.

If you want a Guoya, you first have to go to one of only four dealerships that sell them in China. Then, you have to pay in full, as financing is forbidden, and customization is mandatory.

You’ll also have to pass political and credit background checks before you can have it. But once you see what it has to offer, the veil of secrecy makes sense. These things are so incredibly luxurious.

The rear seats of the Hongqi Guoya have Snappa leather, heating, cooling, massaging, and customizable settings via a detachable 7″ touchscreen. And the exterior has unique design choices in the form of a sunflower motif.

The American man who reviewed this car, however, pointed out that although some buttons were there, what they controlled wasn’t installed yet, leading to questions about what will be in the final version.

Despite some missing features, China’s version of a Bentley is a car that every single Chinese buyer should drive – provided they pass all the background checks first!
