Some of the most luxurious cars from 1990s America are selling for almost nothing on the used car market these days.

Ah, the used car market – what better way is there to secure your dream car without breaking the bank?

You’d be surprised at the gems you can secure for surprisingly little cash.

These luxury cars were considered pricey when they rolled off the showroom floor, but they’re now going for a slim fraction of the price.

The luxury cars from the 1990s going for cheap today – from the Lexus LS400 to the Cadillac Allanté

Lexus was launched as the luxury arm of Toyota back in 1987, and no car better exemplifies that than the LS400.

Back in the day, this car would have cost you about $40,000 – the equivalent of $80,000 today, Idolator reported.

Nowadays, you could get Lexus’ first model for less than $5,000.

How about the Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am? You know, the car that played KITT on Knight Rider?

When it was on sale back in the 1990s, this car would have fetched upwards of $25,000.

Although it’s an in-demand car nowadays, you can still one reasonably cheap at less than $10,000.

Back in the day, a Porsche 944 Turbo would roll off the lot for around $36,990 ($92,457 in today’s money), according to HotCars.

While the price for this car is ticking up slightly, you can still secure one for around $15,000, which is an undeniably good deal.

The Cadillac Allanté is a little more on the niche side, and never quite took off when it was produced between 1987 and 1993.

With a base price of $54,700 ($151,394 in 2025 dollars), you can now expect to snap one up for less than $10,000.

Some of the most luxurious cars are going for relatively little, like the Mercedes-Benz SL500 and Porsche Boxster

The Mercedes-Benz SL500 would have cost $80,000 in 1990 ($160,000 today).

That’s worlds away from the reasonable $12,000 that a used SL500 would go for today.

One guy managed to secure it for $4,100, but soon realized why he got it so cheap.

And here’s some words you’d seldom hear – this Porsche will only cost you $10,000.

When launched back in 1997, the Porsche Boxster would fetch around $39,980 ($80,701 today).

If you can find yourself a used Boxster that looks brand new for $10,000, you’ve done very well.

It just goes to show that the most luxurious cars won’t always remain out of the average person’s price range.

As long as you’re willing to wait around 30 years or so, you can see things change.
