After having her car stolen in Los Angeles, California, this woman managed to foil two thieves’ plans with the help of a $30 Apple AirTag.
“A real driver knows exactly what’s in his car,” as the great Dominic Toretto once said.
Seconds later, the Fast & Furious character revealed a tracking device that was added to his car and foiled the movie’s plot.
But who’d have thought the extravagant franchise would ever echo reality?

Apple AirTag trips up car thieves in California
Trackers in cars have become paramount in recent years, being able to keep tabs on your vehicles and offer reassurance to drivers when parking in busy cities.
And this has just been exemplified by one California woman who used the Apple AirTag to locate her car after it went missing.
The car was reported stolen by the victim to the Alhambra Police Department, and the tracking device quickly came into play to save the day.
“The victim said she parked her car and locked it, but noticed it was missing later on during the day,” said the Police on Facebook.
“She said there was an Apple AirTag and was able to track the vehicle. Officers went to the location of the AirTag and found the car in an alley in the city of Los Angeles, where two suspects were detained.”

“During the investigation, Officers noticed that the battery had been removed from the vehicle. One of the suspects was found with two sets of keys, which were used to start the car.”
Both thieves were arrested, as it was found that they also had a string of outstanding warrants and they’d picked up a number of illegal substances on the road.
Apple to the rescue… again
Funnily enough, this isn’t the first time that we’ve seen Apple products come to the rescue of a car owner.
Although in another instance, the car in question was worth over half a million dollars.
Back in October 2024, a $575k Ferrari was found after being stolen because the owner left their Apple AirPods inside.

The phrase thick as thieves comes to mind.
Thankfully, this case was open and closed as quickly as it started, and the Apple AirTag prevented a rather dire situation for the California resident.
