A Lexus LFA with high mileage is drawing $800,000 in a supercar auction, underscoring the strength of Lexus LFA values in today’s collector market.

The 2012 example, number 205 of 500, is listed on Bring a Trailer with a white exterior and black-and-red interior.

It is powered by a 4.8-liter V10 producing 552 horsepower and revving to 9,500 rpm.

With days left before the hammer falls, this could be one of the most closely watched sales in the supercar auction world this year.

Lexus LFA still commands strong bids

Built between 2010 and 2012, the Lexus LFA was limited to just 500 units worldwide.

Each car was assembled by hand, with the engine co-developed with Yamaha and tuned for exceptional throttle response.

The model is often regarded as one of the most refined Japanese performance cars ever built, blending precise handling with a distinct V10 exhaust note that remains unmatched in the segment.

The LFA was never about chasing top speed records.

Instead, its focus was on delivering a balanced and engaging driving experience, backed by lightweight carbon-fiber construction and advanced aerodynamics.

That approach has helped it age well in the eyes of collectors, many of whom view it as a future classic.

As a result, the Lexus LFA continues to command significant sums at auction even more than a decade after production ended.

Mileage plays an important role in these sales.

This example’s 4,400 miles classify it as high mileage by LFA standards, with many auctioned examples showing fewer than 3,000 miles.

Still, past results show that buyers remain willing to pay top prices for well-maintained higher-mileage cars.

In 2021, a 7,000-mile LFA sold for $725,000, and the current bidding suggests values have strengthened considerably since then.

Rare Japanese Supercars on the Rise

The current performance of this Lexus LFA in the supercar auction market is part of a broader shift in collector demand.

Japanese performance cars, once overlooked in favor of European exotics, are now achieving record prices.

Models such as the Nissan GT-R R34 and Toyota Supra Mk4 have seen significant appreciation, driven by nostalgia, limited supply, and global demand.

The LFA occupies a unique position in this trend.

It offers the craftsmanship and exclusivity often associated with European supercars, combined with Japanese engineering reliability and precision.

This combination appeals to a wide range of buyers, from seasoned collectors to enthusiasts seeking their first major acquisition.

Special editions, such as the Nürburgring Package, have reached prices near $2 million in recent years.

While this particular example is not a Nürburgring model, the strong bidding for a high mileage car shows that scarcity and reputation are powerful forces in the market.

For many collectors, the Lexus LFA represents not just a rare supercar, but a milestone in automotive engineering that will only become more sought-after with time.
