Second-generation Ford GT rears its head in Alabama
The second-generation Ford GT is already an extremely rare sight at the best of times.
But seeing a Ford GT Carbon Series model is truly like finding a needle in a supercar haystack.
And yet this is exactly what has happened – only the odds are even lower again.
That is because the supercar in question is a unit of the one-of-50 Ford GT Carbon Series.
Introduced in 2018 as the lightest road-going variant of Ford’s supercar, it was positioned between the standard GT and the Competition Series.
Fortunately, an absolutely pristine example of the Carbon Series has just reared its head.
This 2020 Ford GT Carbon Series has just been delivered new to McClary Ford in Athens, Alabama.

It comes with the $20,000 Carbon Series Graphics Package, which includes a lot of Competition Orange.
Extensive servings of carbon fiber are par for the course, including the front splitter, rear diffuser, side mirrors, and trim elements.
This extreme amount of weight saving extends to a titanium Akrapovic exhaust system, as well as a polycarbonate rear hatch.
All in all, this shaves over 40lbs of weight from the Carbon Series.
Power is provided by the 3.5-liter, twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine from Ford.
It provides a grand total of 660hp, as well as 550lb-ft of torque.
Carbon Series example already outpaces initial price
So, just how popular is the demand for this incredible, one-of-50 Ford GT?
Well, it’s quite a lot higher than you probably imagine.
When it was released in 2018, the Ford GT Carbon Series came with a sticker price of $613,800.
This particular example, currently being auctioned by Bring a Trailer, has gone slightly above that.

In fact, at the time of writing, the current bid has soared to over $660,000.
To be fair, with such low mileage and a complete set of original accessories, this supercar is an extremely desirable purchase.
The combined factors of limited production, weight-reducing specification, and near-new condition make it a standout.
