Paul Weller has parted ways with his 1972 Mercedes and the history will have you jamming
For fans of all things rock and roll, there’s a unique opportunity for one lucky gearhead to own Paul Weller’s 1972 Mercedes 250 Saloon.
The lead singer of The Jam owned the car for almost two decades, and it reportedly served as inspiration for some hit song releases such as Driving Nowhere, Heavy Soul, and All on a Misty Morning.
The car was allegedly given to the musician on his 38th Birthday.

Sadly, the musician’s car was later sold to a fan, but don’t fear, it truly is the real deal, with the star’s signature adorning the center console.
“Owned and driven by Paul Weller and his family for 18 years and subsequently extensively refurbished by our vendor, a long-term Weller admirer,” explained the listing on Iconic Auctioneers.
But the best part? It has retained the history through and through thanks to the owner.

“Since his unexpected purchase and subsequent restoration, our vendor has enjoyed the Mercedes to the full, not only for his own pleasure but also that of others.
“Taking part in several Jam/Weller-based exhibitions, transporting Weller fans around Woking on ‘Tufty Tours’ and also raising funds for various charities along the way, all carried out with the blessing of the Weller family,” the listing explained further.
As you’d expect, the car is set to fetch a pretty penny, with the Mercedes expected to fetch a whopping $53,000 – £67,000. (£40,00 – £50,000).
For any fans wishing to get their hands on the Modfather’s exclusive car, your chance will come on Saturday, November 8th, 2025, in a live auction at the NEC event space in Birmingham, UK.
It is a classic brand for a reason
It’s no secret that the manufacturer is the oldest in the world, with the birth of the modern car stemming from the founder.
But it’s thanks to the clever engineering, tech, and design that still keep its fleet in demand.
In fact, we bet you didn’t know that Gottlieb Daimler pioneered both motorcycle and truck before founding Mercedes-Benz.
Plus, with artificial intelligence taking charge of the automotive industry, the chief of design of the company weighed in and said that AI can’t design any cars that look good.
