Ben Affleck has been praised for his prediction of AI’s impact on Hollywood and the film industry.
The multi-award winning actor recently appeared on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast.
Appearing alongside close friend Matt Damon, the topic quickly shifted to AI.
Affleck delivered a ‘perfect’ summary of the situation, and it’s blowing the internet away.

Ben Affleck predicts AI’s impact on Hollywood
Ben Affleck is one of the most famous actors in Hollywood.
Now, the Academy Award and Golden Globe-winning actor is being praised for something else entirely.

The show, hosted by UFC commentator Joe Rogan, is arguably the largest podcast on the planet.
Naturally, the topic soon shifted to one of the biggest talking points in the world currently; AI.
More specifically, AI’s impact on Hollywood and the wider creative industry.
“We’ve been spending time looking at this,” Affleck said.
“It’s a useful tool if you’re a writer and you’re going: ‘Ah, I’m trying to set something up where somebody sends someone a letter… and it can give you some examples of that.”
But letter writing aside, Affleck said he had his doubts.

“I actually don’t think it’s very likely that it’s going to be able to write anything meaningful or that it’s going to be making movies from whole cloth”, he said.
“It’s going to be a tool, just like visual effects, and it needs to have language around it.”
“You need to protect your name and likeness. You can do that; you can watermark it, those laws already exist.”
Where he thinks AI will be able to help Hollywood
Will AI prove to be positive in other ways for Hollywood? The actor thinks so.
Affleck used the example of shooting a scene at the North Pole.
Instead of actually going to the North Pole, AI’s ability to transport it to the studio could be a massive help.
“[It can] Save us a lot of money, a lot of time, we’re going to focus on the performances and not be freezing our asses off out there and running back inside — that’s useful,” he said.

Affleck’s been praised for his take on the matter.
“This is one of the best takes I’ve heard on AI. Totally didn’t expect it to come from this guy,” one user said.
“You must understand this: he’s the smart one,” a very popular reply read.
“Sick of people always acting surprised that very intelligent and successful writer/director/actor and known union activist Ben Affleck knows what he is talking about in most instances,” said a third commenter.
Ben Affleck has predicted the future before
This is not the first time that Affleck has been ahead of the curve.
Back in 2003, the Hollywood star was asked for his opinion on the future of movies.
And he absolutely nailed the fact that subscription-based services like Netflix and Spotify would be on the rise.
Netflix was not created for another four years following his interview.
Spotify would not launch in Europe until a year after that.
Could Ben Affleck predict the future accurately once more?
Only time will tell, but history is on the Hollywood star’s side.
