BMW’s F90 M5 is the definition of a sleeper sedan.

It is a performance sedan that can carry a family of five.

But it does something even more impressive than that.

It can, in fact, outrun the Corvette C8 whilst doing so.

Chevrolet Corvette C8 sits among supercar elite…

The Chevrolet Corvette C8 is an extremely impressive car.

That isn’t exactly the most controversial of statements to make.

The mid-engine American supercar made its debut back in 2020.

And the eighth-generation offering has made a serious statement.

It is widely considered to be worthy of challenging Europe’s finest performance machines.

What makes all of this better is that you can purchase supercar performance from your local Chevy dealership.

Even the entry-level Corvette C8 delivers some truly staggering speed.

The top speed can hit as high as 184mph, depending on the trim you opt for.

You can also hit 0-60mph in around three seconds.

Certainly not bad when you consider the bargain it is compared to imported European supercars.

And this isn’t even factoring in the Z06 or the ZR1 variants.

But it can be beaten by a BMW F90 M5

Most car fans often have one pretty similar question.

What if you want this supercar performance, but you need family practicality?

Well, there is a car that fits the bill.

And not only will it seat your entire family, but it will actually outperform the Corvette C8.

And that car is…the BMW F90 M5.

This supercar-beating sedan was produced between 2017 and 2023.

Unlike the current-generation M5, the F90 is a gasoline-only offering.

What makes the F90 BMW M5 so spectacular is its combination of practicality and performance.

Passengers in the rear can enjoy 36.5 inches of legroom and over 41 inches of headroom.

The trunk is also an extremely impressive 14 cubic feet.

And the story only gets better when we consider the performance side of the equation.

According to BMW, the ‘standard’ M5 can go from 0-60 in just 3.1 seconds.

Upgrade to the Competition variant, and that time gets reduced even further.

But it gets even better than that again.

If you activate the red button that says ‘launch control’, then you’re in for a very good time.

That is because it can kick the M5 Competition to a supercar-beating 2.8 seconds.

All of this Munich madness is fuelled by BMW’s incredible 4.4-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 engine.

In its ‘base’ form, it produces 600hp at 6,000 rpm.

But the Competition pack takes it even further, producing over 617hp.

So, if you want Corvette C8 performance with family-friendly practicality…

Then BMW’s F90 M5 is the sleeper family sedan for you.
