The Boring Company has revealed that its new Las Vegas tunnel will open in 2026.
Not only will it open next year, but it will reportedly connect downtown to the airport.
The news gets even better for potential travelers to Sin City.
Because a tunnel journey through Vegas in a Tesla will cost just $12.

The Boring Company transforms underground of Las Vegas
If you have ever been to Las Vegas, there is a construction project you might have seen.
Even if you haven’t seen it, you have definitely heard of it.
The project in question is a tunnel system that is found underneath Las Vegas, a phenomenon called the Vegas Loop.
To give the project its full name, it’s the Las Vegas Convention Center Loop, which has been constructed by The Boring Company.
The 2.2-mile-long route services the entire Las Vegas Convention Center using a fleet of Tesla cars, and it currently uses human-operated Model Y units to transport users throughout the tunnel.

With a maximum speed of 35mph, a journey across the system takes around two minutes.
Having first opened in 2021, the Tesla tunnel is still under development and construction, but the end goal is to reportedly connect all of the major hubs of Las Vegas into the system.
This includes a variety of locations, such as Allegiant Stadium – home of the Las Vegas Raiders.
But another key piece of infrastructure involved is Harry Reid International Airport, and it’s the reason for today’s major update.
Tunnel finally set to connect to the airport
The Boring Company has made a very important announcement, confirming that the first tunnel to the airport is nearly complete.
The tunnel to Harry Reid International Airport will open in early 2026.
What makes this announcement so major is the numbers behind it.
It’s estimated that the new tunnel will transport up to 20,000 people every hour, and will reportedly be 50-80 percent cheaper than an Uber ride.

Some of the early costs have already been released. And, if true, they could be very good news for travelers.
A ride from Downtown to the Airport, which will take around eight minutes, is set to cost just $12.
By comparison, a journey from the Airport to the Las Vegas Convention Center will cost $10.
The infrastructure should cut down massively on road traffic.
It could also cut down travel times and save people money in the process.
